How to Understand Your Target Customers

Don’t just focus on the home page, keywords and titles.

Potential customers are visiting your site because you have a product that they are interested in, such as dental advertising promotions or auto repair services. While search engine optimization strategy and a high ranking will bring a customer to your page, the sale is not necessarily guaranteed. The best way to clinch the sale or bring in a new client is to provide clear information about your products and services. If you offer several products and services, make sure to provide all information about each one using easily navigable links.

Understanding Your Target Customer

If you are a dentist, and you have a dental marketing website you think will attract clients, you won’t make much money if you don’t really know who your customers are or what products and services might appeal to them. Using internet marketing is the 21st Century replacement for a storefront, so you want to make sure that your potential customers know what you have to offer. You can also ask them about their preferences, or why they like your products. Do you discount prices or offer coupons or a complimentary dental consulting appointment? Are your prices consistently lower than others? Is your shipping price cheaper? Do you respond faster to client questions? Are your product descriptions better? Your return policies and guarantees better than your competitor’s? To know your customer you can check credit card records or ask your customer to complete a simple contact form with name, address, age, gender, etc. when they purchase a product.

Does your website give enough contact information?

The great thing about selling from a website, is that you are a 24-7 shop, so customers have a lot of flexibility on making their online purchases. Be sure to always provide your contact information on every page of your site so that your customers can contact you, if needed, about sales, general information or technical problems regarding your site. Remember to include enough pay options like PayPal, credit card options or other online payment services.
