In our previous issue, we discussed about establishing a Fan Page on Facebook. In this issue we are going to talk about getting people to like your business on Facebook.

Before anything else, it’s important that you know the primary issue in making your page noticeable online. Awareness is and should be the primary problem with any Facebook account.

In order to do this, the company must find other autos by which the URL address can be seen. As its core group, the company should tap their employees and close contacts. Send a company newsletter announcing the launching of the page. You can expect to get a number of ‘Likes’ in just a short while if you’re running a large-scale business and has been around for quiet a while already.

Do you know that there are also a number of companies that require their employees to include their Facebook account in their e-mail signature? With this, it will be easier for the company to connect with personal and professional contacts of their employees. Other ways to raise awareness is to use other social sites like Twitter, LinkedIn, as well as article marketing methods.

Generally, the impact of social media management is remarkable when played right. Any online marketer should not give up in building awareness for their page. Simply put, Facebook needs unique visitors for your website to flourish.

Now that you know this, let’s move on to the difficult but not impossible task of getting as much ‘Likes’ as possible  when using Facebook for Business. Several hundreds, or better yet thousands of ‘Likes’, verifies a company’s popularity. It tells how your business is very much visible online. The more Likes a Fan page has, the more it can disseminate its updates and affairs to present and potential customers. You can get more ‘Likes’ by using your page proactively. You should post updates frequently, upload photos that catch the attention of your customers and use Facebook app that allow you to share promos and sales.

If you need help in doing this, then tap a group in your company to serve as moderators. Of course, the ideal group for this would be your Marketing Team. If however, you’re running a small business with a limited amount of employees or if you’re running it yourself, consider outsourcing the task and use applications like Hootsuite which sends out updates on a regular basis.

This may sound like a huge task but it can actually be done easily as long as the company is properly organized. Each company will have different measures as to how active they want their account to be but always remember that all updates, posts and activities should be done with a degree of professionalism in mind.

Treat the Facebook account like you would a newsletter and your clients the primary audience. Post updates that are always benefit-driven but not full of hype. A lot of nonsense will ruin your credibility online. Useful posts such as informative notes, seminar photos, press releases and links from close affiliates are more ideal.

Furthermore, effective Facebook marketing means that you should make use of incentives, promos and other activities then promote them exclusively on the site. This is one of the best ways to get responses in just a short amount of time. Word of mouth is still an important source of prospects despite the technological age, so present customers should as much as possible be pleased with the site so they can share it with others as well.

Be sure to look for our next issue of Facebook For Business. We will look at the ways on how to use promotions, contests and give-aways to catch the attention of more Facebook Fans.
